Overview
This position involves working on a large-scale vegetable farm producing crops such as squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, peppers, onions, melons, and sweet corn. Workers will participate in planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing produce.
The role includes both manual labor and mechanized farm work using agricultural equipment. Workers must follow food safety standards and maintain high-quality produce handling.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 months of recent agricultural experience
- Experience in manual and mechanized farm work
- Ability to understand English or Spanish instructions
- Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks
Main Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables
- Operate planters and transplant crops
- Weed, thin, and prune plants
- Pick, cut, and pack produce carefully
- Assist with irrigation and fertilization
- Operate and maintain agricultural equipment
- Perform general farm tasks such as digging, hauling, and ground preparation
- Follow food safety and quality standards
Work Environment
- Outdoor agricultural fields
- Exposure to weather conditions
- Use of farm machinery and equipment
Work Conditions
- Work schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Approximately 39 hours per week
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
