FARMWORKER - FRUIT HARVEST

Overview

This position involves large-scale fruit harvesting operations including apples, cherries, apricots, onions, and watermelons. Workers will perform harvesting, thinning, and training of fruit trees to maintain quality and productivity.

This is a physically demanding role requiring stamina and the ability to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 months of tree fruit experience required
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs continuously
• Comfortable working on ladders up to 12 feet
• Physically fit and able to work in extreme weather conditions
• Willing to undergo employer-paid drug testing if required

Main Responsibilities

• Harvest apples and cherries by hand using ladders and picking equipment
• Sort and grade fruit based on size, color, and quality
• Perform thinning to improve fruit quality
• Train and manage fruit tree growth (tying, pruning, positioning)
• Carry and handle harvesting equipment and containers
• Maintain care to prevent damage to fruit and trees

Work Environment

• Outdoor orchard environment
• Exposure to heat, cold, and weather changes
• Use of ladders and agricultural equipment

Work Conditions

• Work schedule: 7:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• Approximately 35 hours per week
• Physically demanding work with continuous lifting
• Work at heights using ladders
